Is President Obama’s teleprompter (nicknamed “TOTUS” for Teleprompter of the United States by the blogosphere) starting to cause him more trouble than it’s worth?

In addition to the recent script miscues (like this ), Obama’s teleprompter has been blocking camera shots at East Room events, including the SCHIP bill signing in February .

Today, Obama’s teleprompter stole the spotlight again by blocking the shot of Judge Sotomayor on at least CNN, FOX, and NBC, resulting in the awkward appearance of POTUS nominating TOTUS to the SCOTUS:
